Self-Directed Support Goes Live

On 1st April 2014 the Social Care (Self-Directed Support) (Scotland) Act came into legal force
Everyone in Scotland who receives care and support from their local authority Social Work Services now has the right to Self Directed Support (SDS).
This is a major change in how social care services are delivered, and Self Directed Support, done properly, has the potential to help people realise choice and control, and can contribute to Independent Living.
