SCoD invites tenders for the production of a series of three one hour long DVDs presented in BSL.
**Please note this tender has been amended slightly to reflect changing requirements and the budget has been altered accordingly. The deadline for submission of tenders has also been extended by one week.
To develop and produce a set of three DVDs, a presentation box, 20 page colour printed booklet insert and separate web ready video clips. Each DVD to be fully accessible with English captions. The theme(s) for each DVD to be approved by the Project Advisory Committee.
The work will commence as soon as possible and should be completed by September 2014.
Project activities relevant to this brief:
a) Editing together the school memories of 57 contributions in BSL. A full transcription of the relevant sections of all interviews is available to assist this task.
b) Script development to establish themes, introduce and link clips where necessary.
c) Filming and editing introduction and narrative content with Clark Denmark, BSL presenter (a total of around 25 clips).
d) Producing English captions for the edited BSL footage, ensuring captions are synchronised to the BSL.
e) Designing and producing the three DVDs including a box case.
f) Designing, editing and producing a 20 page booklet insert (which will be written by SCoD)
g) Preparation of a selection of video clips for website use.
The successful contractor must demonstrate a proven track record in this specific field and a portfolio demonstrating the following experience and knowledge:
♦ Digital film editing
♦ DVD production
♦ Design and production of print media
♦ Production of multimedia materials
♦ An understanding and appreciation of British Sign Language
♦ Deaf Awareness
The expected cost for this work is circa £17,000 including VAT.
The contractor will report to the Project Advisory Committee
Tenders should include the following information in a detailed project proposal and plan:
♦ A key contact who will act as the lead for the tendered work, their postal address, fax number and email address
♦ Detailed experience of this type of work, including the work currently undertaken
♦ CVs of the staff who would be involved in this contract
♦ A detailed programme of the work to be undertaken, including a work plan showing key date/milestones and deliverables
♦ The total cost and a breakdown of all costs, including VAT
♦ Names and addresses of at least two clients for whom you have provided a similar service
♦ Any other information that may support your tender, including anything not included in the specification you could offer that would add value to the project.
♦ A confirmation that you will be able to meet the timetabled expectations

Award of Contract
Tenders will be reviewed by a selection panel and must meet all of the requirements in this invitation to tender in terms of:
♦ Appropriateness of methods and technologies
♦ Value for money
♦ Credibility and track record of bidders
If it is deemed necessary, bidders may be requested to attend an interview.
The successful bidder will be informed by Thursday 17th April 2014.
Please note: the DVD pressing, printwork and delivery has already been paid for and will be fulfilled by printing.com
