The Health and Social Care Alliance Scotland (The ALLIANCE) Getting To Know GIRFEC Project in partnership with Scottish Council on Deafness (SCoD), Solar Bear Limited, Facilat-46 (Fac46) and Scottish Government last week launched a unique five part film series aims to explain Getting It Right For Every Child (GIRFEC) and what it means for children and young people in Scotland.
Using British Sign Language (BSL) as the primary language with speech overlay and subtitles, this project aims to be accessible to as many children, young people and their families / carers as possible throughout Scotland.
The five parts are:
- Overview of GIRFEC
- Wellbeing as defined by the Scottish Government in the Children and Young People Act 2014
- The Named Person
- The Lead Professional
- The Child’s Plan
It can be accessible on The ALLIANCE’s GIRFEC page, see link below:
Or on DVD, should anyone like a copy / copies, please visit us at SCoD to collect them or get in touch with Derek Todd by email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
About Getting To Know GIRFEC Project:
There are lots of useful easy read resources on the website.
We would be extremely grateful if you would forward the email on to your colleagues and networks to reach as many children, young people and families / carers who uses BSL in Scotland. It’s important that they are aware and understand GIRFEC before it become legal in August 2016.
