Deaf access to civil legal services

The Scottish Legal Aid Board is carrying out a piece of research into “deaf access to civil legal services”.

BSL Survey: Information about the research and how Deaf BSL users can now take part in BSL is now available at https://vimeo.com/179323262 .   SLAB  expect most BSL interviews to take place in August and September.

SLAB has had 34 responses to their online survey so far. It would be good if more deaf people could take part. The link is https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/civillegalservices.

Deafblind Scotland have recruited some people who are interested in taking part in the research. SLAB is working with them and will adapt the BSL online survey so that it can be delivered to them via a guide/communicator. They expect that the timescales for this will be the same as for the BSL survey.
