In March, the Scottish Oral History Centre (based at the University of Strathclyde) organised and delivered a training day for deaf interviewers.
Presenters first explained the development and importance of oral history, showing some examples of signed history projects from England and Northern Ireland. They then described how to prepare for the interview, preparing and asking questions, establishing rapport with interviewees, etc.

In the afternoon a practical session allowed potential interviewers to try out their interviewing skills by practising in front of a camera.
